Art, Poetry and Short story Competition

DAISYGIRL- ART, POETRY AND SHORT STORY COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION The Art, Poetry and Short story competition is designed to bring out creativity in young minds, while also rewarding them for their creativity. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to proceed to the next stage of the competition, where their work will be further reviewed. Eligibility The competition is in three categories. Hence, to be eligible to apply in any of the categories, applicants submitting entries should:

Be a Nigerian student within the age bracket (13 –19)

Have a valid Gmail address and active phone numbers.

Note that, a participant is allowed to participate in all categories provided he/she meets the criteria and observe the rules of each category.

Theme The theme for the competition is “HOPE” General Guidelines Participants may submit entries in more than one category

Only one entry per category is allowed

If selected, participants will be asked to send proof of age.

All works must be original works of the participant. This means, you must have done it yourself Selection Criteria Only entries that satisfy the following conditions will be reviewed.

Art Category Entries in this category must be submitted in either PDF, JPEG format and must not exceed 5mb Only Paintings, Drawings, Hand illustrations are allowed in this category Poetry Category Entries in this category are allowed to reflect creativity of the poet. Files can be submitted as an attachment either in word document format or PDF format. All entries should not exceed 2mb and must be in font size 12. The poems can follow any rhythm but must not exceed 25 lines.

Short Story Category Entries in this category must be submitted in word document format, typed in Times New Roman with font size 12 with 1.0 line spacing. Entries must not exceed 1000 words. Participants are to also submit a short profile as a separate file in addition. Selection Procedure All work will be reviewed by a panel and shortlisted participants will be contacted. Submission Rules By entering this competition, You attest that you are within the age 13 to 19 and can prove same when required You certify that you are the original owner of the work entered for the competition. You consent that DaisyGirl Foundation to use and re-post your work on the website and any future publication the organization may have. DaisyGirl will always preserve the authorship credit of all published works

Deadline Applications for all categories will close by 7th of June, 2020 at 11:59pm. Late applications will not be considered. Participants are hereby advised to complete and submit their applications before the deadline to avoid or deal with any technical difficulties that may arise during the course of the application.

Prize 3 final winners will be selected across all categories. Top two winners selected from each category by the panelists will get N20,000 and N10,000 respectively. Participants with the most likes also gets N10,000 cash prize.
